just a jersey guy

i suppose it was just my dumb lucky fate
go on and check out my license plate
and it says he is from the garden state
where all the hoods are all totally great

i am east camden born and bred
a south jersey boy and that friend is plenty said
home to the boss boardwalk and berries cran and blue
tomatoes devils cauliflower all jersey through and through

we all summer at the jersey shore
we are a brief trek from bell and lady liberty
this is our true home forever more
northerners southerners tweeners all part of one entity
drenched within the long shadows of two towering cities
we take great pride in the character of our awesome valley
